Tampa got its first party in honor of the Coen Brothers’ cinematic cult classic The Big Lebowski
nearly three years ago— so well received, the presenters are back ... with no celebrity guest headliner but plenty going on nonetheless. Celebrate “His Dudeness,” “Duder” or “El Duderino, if you’re not into the whole brevity thing” when Lebowski Fest 2014 blazes up tonight at the Orpheum. The celebration will include live tunes by Moonmen From Mars and Folkin’ Up The ’80s and, of course, the obligatory screening of Lebowski
, which you may or may not be able to hear above a chorus of dialogue recitations. Doors are at 8 p.m., and adults 18 and older will be permitted; $16 in advance, $20 day of show.
Tomorrow, the Lebowski Fest Tampa Bowling Party rolls out the fun with costumes, trivia and other contests. Ticket includes bowling and shoe rental. Open to all, but lanes will be allotted on first-come-first-served basis. Takes place 8 p.m.-midnight at University Lanes, Tampa. $25 in advance, $30 day of. Tickets are available locally in Tampa at Microgroove, Daddy Kool Records, The Hub, DT Tampa and Mojo Books & Music. For more info, visit lebowskifest.com.
