There's something creepy-cool about voodoo dolls, and a group of unlucky folks might be feeling some strangely piercing pains tonight as local artist Theresa Crout holds her Voodood Birthday Challenge Wrap Party
at New World Brewery. The project began as a social networking-intensive art project to help her create paintings and sculptures themed after her special, whimsical voodoo dolls. Crout's been working on the project since mid-January and has completed 43 unique voodoo doll sculptures, aka voodoods. Each piece is one-of-a-kind, and she's engaged her social media friends on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram by asking them to name each character. The person who submits the winning name for a particular character is then entered in a drawing for a one of a kind piece at the end of the challenge. "There's even talk of a pin the heart on the voodood game," Crout said. "Should be very interesting after a few beers." Find out more at the Facebook event page.
