Cigar City and WMNF release Tropical Heatwave Wheat Ale

- Tropical Heatwave Wheat Ale is the first 16-ounce can release from Cigar City.
This year, Tropical Heatwave Wheat Ale will be available at the fest (May 10-11), as well as in 16-ounce cans distributed statewide.
"Cloudy gold in color due to being unfiltered, this wheat beer has moderate passion fruit notes with an underlying berry aroma," head brewer Wayne Wambles said in a press release from WMNF. "Thirst quenching tropical bitterness and a slight rosemary to pine character are prominent in the flavor profile with supporting notes of wheat and a slight berry tartness. Distinguished without pretension, it can be enjoyed by the connoisseur or the layman. 5.5 percent ABV. Sipping it right now. Definitely happy with the small changes that we made to it this year."
The 16-ounce cans are a first for CCB. Four-packs are available currently at the brewery in Tampa, and will soon make an appearance at all of CCB's distribution spots.
